Aerolase Lightpod Neo V650 Nd Yag 1064nm Laser

Aerolase Lightpod Neo V650 Nd Yag 1064nm Laser ability to perform efficaciously without skin cooling is due to its ability to deliver the same range of laser energy density at the skin as traditional longer pulsed (i.e., 3 msec to 30 msec) Nd:YAG 1064 nm lasers, but in a high-powered, yet shorter 650-microsecond pulse duration. 

Although the melanin in the epidermis is exposed to the same laser fluence as it passes through to the deeper dermis layers, the time of this exposure is 5 to 50 times shorter when using the 650-microsecond pulse duration. This results in a lesser amount of energy absorption in the epidermal melanin.

As a result, there is less heat generation within the epidermis, allowing treatment with no skin cooling and with virtually no discomfort. This also results in a higher percentage of laser energy reaching the targets including hair follicles in the deeper dermis, with the same fluence at the skin tissue, as compared to the traditional longer pulsed lasers.
